‘Release of ‘Alan Wake II’ Pushed Back to October 27th’
The release date for Alan Wake II has been delayed by 10 days to October 27th, according to Remedy Entertainment and publisher Epic Games. The decision does not seem to be solely based on allowing more time for game polishing. A tweet from the Alan Wake Twitter account states that the shift in date is intended to provide more room for players to enjoy their favorite games, considering the abundance of game launches in October.
Not only does this give Alan Wake II a little more distance from some of the other big new games coming out at the time, it also brings the survival horror game a little closer to Halloween. In the meantime, you won’t have to wait long to find out more about the game, which will be revealed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live next Tuesday. “We can’t wait to show you what everyone’s favorite author is up to in the Dark Place next week,” the tweet reads. “Thank you for your patience!”
An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we’re moving Alan Wake 2’s launch from October 17 to October 27.
October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games.

October is especially full of gaming months. Alan Wake 2 is no longer coming the same week as Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but now it arrives just days after Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection and a game in a similar format. From Alone in the Dark.
Many other notable games are slated for release that month, including Detective Pikachu Returns, Forza Motorsport, Lords of the Fallen, and Cities Skylines II. Earlier this week, Ubisoft tried to open up a small window for itself by moving Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s release date forward a week to October 5th, while Batman: Arkham Trilogy hits the Nintendo Switch on October 13th. Phew. I hope you are already practicing finger stretches before that fullness of games.
